The Tribe WiFi Connector is the "brains" of your TribeConnect service. It connects your Tribe Phone to your home WiFi and allows it to make and receive calls while applying all of the parental controls and settings.

Yes you can! If you already have a classic landline phone that you want to use with TribeConnect, then all you need is to purchase a Tribe WiFi Connector. Just select the Bring Your Own Phone option when you checkout.

When the Tribe WiFi Connector arrives, follow the same setup process and plug your existing phone's RJ11 jack into the jack on the WiFi Connector and start calling.

Tribe Phone works great for kids roughly ages 4 – 18. It's simple enough for young kids to pick up and dial, and useful all the way through the tween and/or teen years before a smartphone makes sense.

Nope. The phone works on its own over your home Wi-Fi. Your child just picks it up and calls — no app, no login, no screen required on their end.

Only the contacts you've approved. Your child cannot dial anyone outside your approved list — and unknown callers can't get through either. You're in complete control.

No. Only approved contacts can reach your child's phone. Everyone else is automatically blocked.

Emergency calls to 911 always go through, regardless of your contact settings. You can also receive 911 alerts, where you'll receive a notification any time 911 is dialed from the phone.

Yes. Quiet Hours let you block calling during specific times — like homework, dinner, or bedtime. You control the schedule from the parent mobile app or web portal.

Yes. Your parent dashboard shows a full call history — who called, who was called, and when.

Yes — the Tribe Phone setup process is designed to make connecting to your home WiFi a breeze. Our team comes from the enterprise phone system industry and has taken their decades of experience and created a very simple and efficient setup process.

Other WiFi landline companies use WiFi phones that were designed for businesses and hotels with an IT staff managing their network. They weren't designed for the many different types of home routers or WiFi settings from residential internet providers. We took that into account when we developed the setup process to make it easy for you.

TribeConnect stands apart from other WiFi landline providers. Our team has put the power of enterprise-grade phone systems into your hands. Other WiFi landline providers with a Wi-Fi-based phone require an active internet connection to make and receive calls. If your connection goes out, calls won't go through until it's restored.

When you have a Tribe Phone, you can make and receive calls using your home phone number from the TribeConnect mobile app. You can also preset call handling rules so in the event of a power or internet outage and Tribe Phone is not connected to the internet, inbound calls to your home number will automatically forward to your cell phone, or multiple other phone numbers at the same time.

TribeConnect does not offer a free tier. Most free tiers offer a limited version of the service and are designed for you to eventually convert and become a paying customer, which our research shows over 90% of people do. That approach is simply not in our philosophy. Rather than offer you a version of the service that imposes frustrating limitations until you begin paying, we want to keep it simple and be straightforward.

Your TribeConnect subscription will begin billing after your Tribe Phone bundle, or Tribe WiFi Connector, is shipped. That is also when any free months of service that you have accrued through our referral program will begin to be credited.

Yes. With TribeConnect service, your child can call any US phone number — cell or landline — as long as it's on your approved list.

Yes. Since TribeConnect uses a real 10-digit phone number, your child can call friends with any other phone — you just add the number to your approved contacts.

Yes. You can enable "One-Touch" dialing so that all your child needs to do is press a single number button to connect to friends and family.

Yes. You can treat TribeConnect like a traditional landline that can make calls to, and receive calls from any number, not just approved contacts. Think of the open dialing like a traditional landline that has a lot of advanced call routing, handling, and voicemail features.

Yes, TribeConnect supports three-way calling so kids can chat with multiple friends or family members at once.

You can host a 3-way "party line" call in three quick steps:

1. Place Call 1 on hold: While speaking with your first participant, quickly press and release the Flash button (or rapidly tap the phone's physical cradle/switch hook once). You will hear a new dial tone.

2. Dial Call 2: Enter the second participant's phone number and wait for them to answer.

3. Merge the calls: Once Call 2 is on the line, press the Flash button (or tap the cradle) one more time. All three parties will instantly be bridged together.
