Privacy policy
Effective Date: July 18, 2026 · Last Updated: July 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Tribe Connect LLC (“Tribe Connect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our home phone equipment, our websites at tribeconnect.com and app.tribeconnect.com, our mobile application, and our calling and related services (together, the “Service”). It applies to the parent or legal guardian who holds the account (the “Account Holder”) and to members of the household who use the Service, including children.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is intended for use in the United States only.
2. A Note to Parents (Children’s Privacy)
Tribe Connect is a home phone designed to be purchased and managed by a parent or legal guardian and used by the whole household, including children. Because children use the phone, we may collect information relating to a child, such as call records, voicemail and saved audio recordings (“Keepsakes”), and contacts. We collect this information only with, and in reliance on, the consent of the parent or legal guardian who sets up and controls the account. Section 9 explains our practices under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and the rights parents have to review and delete their child’s information.
3. Information We Collect
a. Account and contact information. When the Account Holder registers, we collect name, email address, telephone number, password (stored in hashed form), and mailing and service address. For emergency (E911) service, we collect and store the physical service address you register for each line (your “Registered Location”). We also collect a support PIN you set to authenticate yourself with support; the PIN is stored in hashed form and is never stored or logged in plain text.
b. Children’s information. Through household use of the phone, we may collect information relating to a child, including call records (numbers called and received, and the date, time, and duration of calls), voicemail and saved audio recordings (Keepsakes) and any transcriptions of them, and contacts saved to the account.
c. Call and telecommunications usage (CPNI). As a telecommunications provider, we collect call detail information such as the numbers you call and that call you, and the date, time, duration, and type of calls, as well as voicemail. Some of this information is “Customer Proprietary Network Information” (“CPNI”) protected under federal law. See Section 6.
d. Payment information. When you purchase equipment or subscribe, payment card or bank-account details are collected and processed by our payment processor and stored in its secure vault as a token. We do not store your full card number or bank account number. We retain only limited information such as the card brand and the last four digits (or the last four digits of a bank account), the payment method type, and a token used to charge your saved method for recurring billing.
e. Device and technical information. To provision and operate your Equipment, we collect device information such as the device identifier/MAC address and, during setup, your Wi-Fi network name. We also automatically collect technical and diagnostic information such as IP address, app and device logs, and error/crash reports (via our error-monitoring provider) to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
f. Communications and support. When you contact us or use in-app support, we collect the contents of your messages and support-chat conversations, and records of emails and text messages we exchange with you. Our in-app support assistant is powered by a third-party AI provider; the text of your support conversation is processed by that provider to generate responses and to route or escalate your request. See Section 5.
g. Cookies and similar technologies. Our websites and app use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not use the Service to serve targeted advertising.
4. How We Use Information
-
To provide, operate, provision, and maintain the Service and Equipment, including routing calls, delivering voicemail and Keepsakes, and enforcing your approved-contacts, blocked-numbers, and quiet-hours settings.
-
To provide emergency (E911) service and Emergency Alerts.
-
To process payments, billing, taxes, and subscriptions, and to prevent fraud.
-
To provide customer support and to authenticate you (including via your support PIN).
-
To send you service and transactional communications (for example, billing and payment notices, voicemail notifications, and account or security messages) by email and text message.
-
To secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, and to detect and prevent abuse or unlawful use.
-
To comply with legal, regulatory, and telecommunications obligations.
-
With your consent, to send marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
5. Automated and AI Processing
We use automated processing in limited ways: (a) our in-app support assistant uses a third-party AI service to interpret your support messages, generate responses, suggest help articles, and gauge sentiment to route or escalate your request to a human; and (b) voicemail may be transcribed to text through our telecommunications provider where that feature is enabled. These features process the contents of the relevant communications to provide the Service. We do not use them to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you without human involvement.
6. Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)
Federal law and FCC rules protect the confidentiality of CPNI — information about the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of your use of our telecommunications service, and related billing information. We use CPNI to provide and bill the Service, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. We maintain safeguards for CPNI, including authenticating you (for example, with your support PIN) before disclosing call detail information, and logging access to CPNI. We do not use, disclose, or permit access to your CPNI for marketing outside the categories permitted by law without the consent required by the FCC’s rules.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as described here:
-
Service providers / sub-processors. With vendors who perform services for us under contract, limited to what they need to perform those services, including: telecommunications and call routing, numbering, E911, and text messaging; billing and payment processing and card/bank tokenization; database, authentication, and application hosting; email delivery; error monitoring and background job processing; our AI support assistant; and our hardware store and order-fulfillment providers.
-
Emergency services. When 911 is dialed, and for Emergency Alerts, we share your Registered Location and related information with emergency-routing providers, PSAPs, and the recipients you designate.
-
Legal and safety. To comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests; to enforce our Terms; and to protect the rights, safety, and property of Tribe Connect, our customers, or others.
-
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
-
With your direction or consent.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and telecommunications obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Voicemail and Keepsakes recordings are retained according to your settings and our retention schedule; call records and billing records are retained as required for business and legal purposes; and account information is retained while your account is active and for a period after cancellation, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
9. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Tribe Connect is intended to be purchased and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or provide personal information to us directly other than through use of the home phone under parental control.
Parental consent. By setting up the account and using the Service, the Account Holder represents that they are the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses the phone and consents to our collection, use, and storage of the child-related information described in this Policy (such as call records, voicemail/Keepsakes recordings and transcriptions, and contacts), which we collect and use solely to provide the Service.
Parental rights. The Account Holder may, at any time, review the child-related information we have collected, refuse to permit its further collection or use, and request its deletion, through the Parent Portal or by contacting us at the address in Section 16. Deleting certain information may end the child’s ability to use the Service.
No behavioral advertising to children; no conditioning. We do not use children’s information for behavioral advertising, and we do not condition a child’s participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary. We do not knowingly share children’s information except with the service providers needed to operate the Service and as required by law or for emergency services.
10. How We Protect Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, tokenization of payment credentials so that we do not store full card or bank numbers (PCI DSS SAQ-A scope), hashing of passwords and support PINs, access controls, and logging of access to CPNI. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Rights and Choices
-
Access, correction, and deletion. The Account Holder can view and update account information, contacts, settings, and the Registered Location in the Parent Portal, and can request access to or deletion of personal information (including a child’s) by contacting us.
-
Marketing email. You can opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; we will still send service and transactional messages.
-
Text messages. You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP; note that opting out of Emergency Alert texts will reduce safety notifications.
-
CPNI. You may contact us regarding the use of your CPNI as described in Section 6.
12. State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have rights to know/access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to appeal a denial of a request. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To exercise a right, contact us using Section 16; we will verify your request as required by law.
13. Data Location
We store and process information in the United States.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services (for example, our hardware store and your internet service provider). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by reasonable means (for example, by email or through the Service) and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
